Team

Digital Innovation and Design (DID)

Timeline

May 2023 - August 2023 (4 months internship)

Context

Over the summer, I joined the Institute of Systems Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS-ISS) as a Digital Innovation & Design Research Assistant.

I worked with the Digital Innovation and Design team on the content creation of the NUS Blended Learning Programmes, all in pursuit of improving student engagement and learning experiences.

Project Highlights

1. Educational Content Redesign

Challenge: Traditional UX educational materials at the university were text-heavy and challenging for students to grasp, leading to disengagement and limited learning success.

Solution: I spearheaded the redesign of these materials into more digestible formats, including instructional videos and detailed infographics. This approach aimed to translate complex UX theories into practical, engaging visual content that resonated better with students.

Tools & Techniques: I utilized Adobe Premiere to edit videos to ensure smooth visual and narrative flow. For the animations, I used Powtoon to create dynamic and engaging motion graphics that highlight key points effectively. The graphics were crafted using Adobe Illustrator.

Impact: This redesign revolutionized learning for over 2,000 students, significantly boosting their comprehension and engagement with UX principles, evidenced by enhanced performance and feedback.

2. Feedback Dashboard Creation

Challenge: The staff at NUS faced challenges in managing and interpreting large volumes of service feedback, which impeded actionable insights and improvements.

Solution: I developed a comprehensive, interactive dashboard using Figma to effectively organize and visualize this feedback. The dashboard supports diverse data inputs and presents them in user-friendly formats such as charts and heatmaps, facilitating immediate visual assessment and decision-making.
